Book Stores/Library: 
Visit our local book stores spread out on Lander, Wyoming's Main Street. You will find enthusiastic business owners and a multiplicity of reading material. Head to the Lander Library located at 451 North 2nd Street to browse the stacks, research local history and catch up on periodicals and newspapers from around the country. You can visit our helpful librarians Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. In contacting the friends of the Lander Library please call 307-332-5194. Browse our art galleries, shop our specialty stores, and dine in our restaurants.

Bowling:

Lander Wyoming Children’s Museum:

Coffee Houses:
Please plan to take advantage of the many coffee shops in our peaceful town. Your taste buds will thank you for that heavenly java, that only the true experts know how to prepare! You will find several establishments that offer the tempting aroma of ambrosia coffee and fresh baked desserts. 
The Magpie located at 159 North 2nd Street is just one of Lander’s treasured coffee houses. As you sit back with your morning coffee and our local newspaper, prepare for the day with a moment of leisure. Vegetarian dishes are offered for lunch with fresh bread and a salad. This local hang out is known for it’s monthly art displays and creative theme dinners (ask for special dates & times by calling 332-5565). 
Specializing in baked bagels and breads is the highly favored Wildflour Bakery & Espresso. With a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, it’s easy to make this place a routine stop for your daily dose of caffeine! Plan on stopping in at 545 West Main Street Suite C for lunch or call 332-9728 to ask about the house specials.

Exercise
Exercise, play racquetball or squash, work out on weights, or take an aerobics class at one of our fitness centers. Lander also offers yoga classes for those of you wanting to exercise your mind as well as your body.

Golf Course:

The Lander Golf & Country Club is an 18 Hole Public Golf Course with it’s own pro-shop and café. Located at 1 Golf Course Drive, take advantage of the spacious driving range or improve your long putt before you take in a challenging (par –71)18 holes of golf. As this is a public course, walk-ins are welcome but advance tee times are always recommended and appreciated. Later, relax with friends on the deck while enjoying refreshments and the absolutely breath taking view of the Wind River Mountains! If moonlight golf is your passion, be sure to call the Lander Golf Club and get involved in the 4th of July Moonlight Golf Tournament. To set up a tee time or for detailed information, call332-4653 or call the café for daily specials at 332-9102.

Historic Downtown Walking Tours of Lander, WY:
Stop by the local Chamber of Commerce located at 160 North First Street to pick up your self guided walking tour booklet for only a dollar. This book provides the history of many buildings as well as anecdotes about some of Lander’s more colorful characters. For further information call 800-433-0662.

Foundry (Eagle Bronze)
Lander is home to a very prestigious foundry that produces some of the largest bronzes within the world. Lander itself is home to numerous bronze statues which add to the culture and richness of our proud community. Eagle Bronze provides tours to the public and has a beautiful showroom that you just don’t want to miss. Please call the foundry for detailed information, 332-5436 or visit them at 130 Poppy in the Industrial Park.

Wyoming State Winter Fair
Plan to attend this annual event, set in early March to enjoy major entertainers, a business fair, a variety of delicious food, and of course, livestock shows. This event is a long time tradition that brings many visitors to our handsome town.


Local Musicians/Live Music
With the newly opened Global Café located at 360 Main Street, Lander now offers a late night coffee house with a variety of exquisite desserts and myriad of non-alcoholic beverages. This smoke-free environment offers a comfortable “come as you are” posture. The diverseness of musical expression offers a broad spectrum of talents. This family atmosphere, also offering a game room upstairs, is sure to satisfy all ages. Listen to folk, jazz, blue-grass, or rock depending on the evening’s schedule. For more information and scheduling call 349-4899. Also on Main Street, the Cowfish (smoke-free) serves up a full menu characterized by discriminating taste. A popular place to meet old friends and new has typically been the Gannet Grill/Lander Bar. You just haven’t been to Lander if you haven’t experienced the friendly atmosphere of this “home away from home”. Musicians from around the country have been known to perform in this relaxed atmosphere of “The Grill”. Call for an upcoming schedule of events and performances, 332-8228.

Movie Theater
The Grand Theater features comfortable seats with ample legroom. The newly remodeled balcony offers spacious sitting for those who want the royal treatment. You can sit back and enjoy being waited on when you choose the balcony seats. The Grand Theater brings a variety of movies to our community as well as offering an art film series every Saturday and Sunday beginning at 3:00 in the afternoon. For more information or the latest movie scheduling call 332-3300.    

Parks (& Recreation)
Visit one of our many city parks to relax, picnic, play tennis, or romp on playground equipment. The City of LanderParks and Recreation Commissionhas developed numerous activities and educational projects throughout the year.  A true dedication of individuals has built the foundation for the development of Lander’s youth. Please call 332-4647 for more information concerning everything from baseball leagues, volleyball, renting sports equipment, and upcoming events. The number for the Parks and Recreation Commission is 332-9215.

River Walk
Looking for a place to take the family on a picnic and get some exercise at the same time? Pack a sack lunch and park on South First Street and Main. The entrance to the River Walk is off of Main Street, standing at the bridge of the Popo Agie River.  Enjoy a brisk walk, a leisurely stroll, or put on those roller blades and really get a work out! 
A concrete path has been poured making a smooth transition beside the river. Once you get to the core of the path, you can enjoy the energy of the river, bird watching, or a quiet picnic. You will notice a small amphitheater that is provided for musicians and speakers for various venues. The River Walk continues over a bridge and enters into the residential part of your journey. 
Turning left onto Canyon Street and walking just a block takes you to 2nd Street where you cross the street & turn left continuing your walk. Enjoy the beauty of this old neighborhood as you make your way to the bridge where you’re greeted by the sound of the Popo Agie River. Stay on the path of the river which will soon lead you to another concrete path bordering our mature City Park. Keep following the path until you make your way through McManus Park. Plan to turn around and enjoy the view from the other direction as you make your way back.

Swimming Pool
Swim in our indoor Olympic size community swimming pool and relax afterwards in the hot pool with Jacuzzi jets. The Lander Community Swimming Pool is located at 450 South 9th Street. For a schedule and special events, please inquire by calling 332-2272.
