Jim Bridger and other mountain men met and traded
their furs for supplies with each other and trading company representatives. Each
summer, this scene is re-created for a week by mountain
men from all over the U.S. It is open to the public and
you can find authentic re-creations of tools and
everything else
associated with frontier living in 1838.
Riverton Museum
Riverton Museum takes you on a trip to the past
covering everything from trappers to cowboys. General stores, tie-hacks, drug
stores, schools, banks and churches are offered for viewing. Open
Tues. through Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
White Water Rafting
White Water Rafting with Wind River Canyon Whitewater
will give you the opportunity to explore how
the “First Damn
Rapids” got
their name. Depending on water flow, this
adventure down the Wind River Canyon changes
with each season.

Winter Carnival
The Wild West Winter Carnival makes February
a fun filled month of festivities. Crowning
of royalty, ice sculpting, casino nights, ATV
races, and tethered

are just a few of
