Historic Sheridan Inn
This building of 69 gables is a National Historic Landmark, once considered the finest hotel between Chicago and San Francisco. It was frequented by Buffalo Bill Cody who auditioned acts for his famous Wild West Show from the porch of the grand old building. The Inn originally opened in 1893 with the coming of the railroad. Since then it has catered to all the great names of the west. The Inn was in Ripley’s“Believe it or Not” as the “House of 69 Gables.” The Inn is open year round for tours.

Walking Tour of Historical Downtown
A self-guided walking tour brochure guides you through a walking tour of the historic business district of Sheridan. This tour is designed by the Downtown Sheridan Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of our historic downtown. This walking tour has been designed so that one may proceed from the Trolley Car Park south on Main, cross the street and return north on Main Street back to Trolley Car Park. The informative, easy referenced walking tour brochure focuses on human interest events that took place in buildings that have been designated within our Main Street National Historical Site.
